9 am to 2:30 pm Sunday, November 8
We are pleased to announce a new hand-stitching class featuring textile bird art made from fabric scraps. In this class, you will learn how to create an owl appliqué using fabric scraps from FabMo, and use easy-to-learn hand-stitching and embroidery techniques to make your owl as realistic or fantastical as you want! The finished appliqué will then be sewn onto a fragrant sachet or small pillow filled with dried botanicals, such as lavender petals and pine needles, which you will be able to assemble yourself. Perfect for holiday decorating or gift giving.
The workshop fee is $75, which covers all the materials you need to make a sachet/small pillow approximately 6”x8”. This class is suitable for adults with basic hand sewing skills. This 5.5-hour class will include a 30-minute break. Please bring a light lunch or snack to eat during the break.
Ann Smith has taught her specialized textile bird art techniques in various in-person and online workshops. She is also a presenter for the biannual Making Zen Online Retreat hosted by Kate Ward of Zen Stitching.
Seats will be limited, so be sure to sign up and join us for the last workshop of the year!
