ABOUT THE ARTISAN: I've been sewing since I was a kid, and I earned my Apparel Technology BS Degree from Purdue University. My campus job was as an assistant at Purdue Theater's Costume Shop, where I learned many additional sewing and textile embellishment techniques. After moving to L.A., I designed and made costumes for community theater groups. When I moved to the Bay Area, I taught sewing classes and camps to kids and adults. I was given a Viking Husqvarna embroidery machine around the same time I discovered FabMo!
The fabrics and notions I find at FabMo are of such superb quality, they're irresistible! I have had good luck finding beautiful silks, linen, suede, tassels, etc. The color, weight, and size of the fabrics inspire me, and I love to combine a few different fabrics and add a touch of embroidery.
