CREATIONS: Earth-friendly purses and and tote bags from repurposed materials: vintage needlepoint, vintage horse brass, repurposed leather belts, and FabMo “rescued” fabrics.
ABOUT THE ARTISAN: The first bags I made were inspired by the desire to repurpose vintage needlepoint into something updated and useful outside of the home. My mother was an avid needle-pointer, and I needlepoint myself, so I know and appreciate the hours of work and the expense in wool and canvas required to make a beautiful needlepoint tapestry. I believe these works should be seen (and perhaps, flaunted) and that doing so may inspire younger generations to continue the art of needlecraft.
My shop is “Bagnitude”; the tagline “Bags with Attitude". Whatever style you choose, classic, or quirky, I hope it will be fun to wear and a conversation starter. All of my purses/tote bags are handmade by me. They are one-of-a-kind and Earth friendly; repurposing as many materials as possible. The "new" fabrics and leather I use come from FabMo. A portion of the cost of each bag helps to support this effort.
