ARTISAN NAME: Joan Moore

CREATIONS: Mosaics, Multimedia Pieces, Quilted Wall Hangings and Ornaments

ARTISAN STATEMENT: I will be selling mosaic items including trivets, garden stones and wall hangings using FabMo tiles, crockery and stained glass. I will also be bringing small, quilted wall hangings and ornaments made from FabMo fabric.

CONNECTION TO FABMO: I have been shopping at FabMo for about 2 years. My first purchase included a large number of tiles that I had no idea how to use. Prior to using FabMo tiles I had been making steppingstones using crockery and stained glass, and also cutting wood into birds, crosses and other shapes to mosaic. Incorporating FabMo tiles into my pieces was very challenging to my design aesthetic, but I love a good challenge. The tiles are much thicker than my other mosaic pieces, so I started using thin as a base/adhesive to level out the pieces.

I found art nouveau tiles on FabMo's online site and purchased them. They are colorful, beautiful and inspiring. I have made steppingstones and trivets with them.

The majority of my mosaics are made of used materials that I purchase at Thrift Shops, yard sales and FabMo.
