Blue Lion Arts Handmade
ARTISAN NAME: Annie Wu
CREATIONS: Stuffed Animals, Ornaments, Cotton Potholders
ARTISAN STATEMENT: I’m excited to bring a new collection of locally made animal friends to the Artisans Market, all made from repurposed textiles and other materials found at FabMo! We’ll have hedgehogs, frogs, dogs, cats, bunnies, ducks, geese, sheep, pigs, dinosaurs, lions, kangaroos, capybaras, and much more! Every item is one of a kind. Most of my handcrafted animals are made with the help of a 1941 hand crank Singer sewing machine and a good amount of hand sewing, but I will also have a small collection of unique, hand-knit animals (and a doll or two) made from FabMo-sourced yarn.
CONNECTION TO FABMO: I have been an active volunteer at FabMo for the past few years because I resonate strongly with its mission to save textiles and other materials from the landfill for creative reuse. It’s a privilege to have access to this treasure trove of locally sourced crafting materials. I encourage all newcomers to stop by during one of FabMo’s in-person shopping events or even sign up for a volunteer shift to get a firsthand look at the high quality materials that find their way to the warehouse.
While I will be bringing never-before-seen handmade items to the Artisans Market in October, you can also find my animals year-round at the Mountain View Library Lobby Shop located in Mountain View, CA. A portion of the proceeds goes towards supporting the Friends of the Mountain View Library.
