ARTISAN STATEMENT: What happens when two next-door neighbors with a shared love for fashion and sustainability join forces? They create Mih Made New!

Meet Mih, a lifelong, self-taught seamstress with a passion for crafting timeless, one-of-a-kind pieces. Her expertise is rooted in old-world techniques learned in her native Romania, bringing artistry and craftsmanship to every garment she creates. Along with FabMo’s upcycled pieces, Mih adds vintage fabrics and embellishments, adding an authentic, nostalgic touch to each creation. Her neighbor, Julie, happily manages the business, ensuring each exquisite piece finds a home with someone who will cherish it as much as Mih loved making it.

CONNECTION TO FABMO: Mihaela first came across FabMo at the San Mateo Farmers' Market, where a booth displayed an array of items crafted entirely from FabMo materials. Intrigued, she soon visited FabMo herself and discovered a treasure trove of unique finds, such as handmade gifts of wonderful skill, interesting buttons sorted by color or shape thanks to the creativity of the volunteers, as well as high-quality yarn perfect for knitting projects. FabMo’s volunteers devote their time and talents to the community with joy and care. Their efforts are inspiring, and we are proud to support such a remarkable organization.
