FabMo FAQs Answered
Is it an advantage to be there early on the first day?
Is there a limit on how much I can take?
Can I sell these fabrics?
There is no advantage to any particular day or time. We regularly replenish the piles throughout the event, so you can pick your appointment time for your convenience. Someone arriving halfway through the last day is still seeing inventory that has been just brought out and hasn’t been picked over. There are so many different types of projects being served, also, so that what is of great interest to one may be of no particular interest to another.
We expect you to be considerate of others coming for each month’s distribution. Don’t take excessively of the prizes like leathers and large pieces of fabric. Take what you will use, not just what you want. The smaller pieces have great value, even though the average seamstress or seamster probably prefers the larger ones for convenience. Check out the projects and galleries pages for what has been done with smaller pieces. We hold these events frequently, so it isn’t necessary to stock up on fabric.
In any given month we will have 250-200 people coming to the event. To be fair to those with later appointments we set aside proportionate quantities of things to be brought out later. Our volunteers restock the tables throughout the event. The storage area is off limits.
These samples cannot be sold as they are. Once they are incorporated into a project, however, that limitation disappears. It’s wonderful that items made with these fabrics are sold in support of churches, schools, and other non-profits, as well as pursuing individual initiative.
