What happens at these events?                     See the video here

Why do I need an appointment?

How long is my appointment?

Can I bring a friend?  My children?

At these events, like-minded creative craftfolk gather to select treasures for their projects.  Magic happens when the crowd size is “right” – big enough for wonderful networking, scouting for each others’ fabrics, solving problems, etc., and not so big that folks are in each others’ way.  The challenge is to keep the crowd size “right”, which seems to be as few as 3-4 or as many as 18-20.   The “happy chatter” that fills the room is so heartwarming.  We maintain a schedule of appointments in order to keep that number at a safe, manageable, and happy level. However, we also reserve some time on each day we’re in operation for those without appointments.  Our current monthly schedule is Thursday, Friday and Saturday following the first Sunday of the month (exception January)

    Thursday 4-6pm (drop-ins welcome 7-8pm)

    Friday 8:30am-6pm (drop-ins welcome 5-6pm)

    Saturday 8:30am-3pm (drop-ins welcome 12-3pm)

Our planning expectation is that your appointment is for about forty-five minutes.  There is no “right” or”wrong “ to that, but it is a reasonable planning component.  Some are gone in shorter time, while some have lingered much longer.  Our “perfect storm” happens when we are scheduled near the upper limit, then get some combination of people arriving early, with unexpected friends, and finding folks lingering past expectations.  If we also get a “drop-in” or two, magic quickly becomes mayhem.  We ask that you respect your appointment time, and let us know if your plans change.  (We can often reschedule when necessary, even on very short notice.)

We love help in spreading the word about our growing effort, so we welcome you including your friends at the events.  We don’t limii WHO can come, but we do need to know HOW MANY.  We must know their names and how many will come with you in advance, however, so we can schedule them properly and manage the crowd size.  Perhaps the best way is to forward the email newsletter and have them make their own appointment.

Kids are a blessing and are welcome, in general.  Strollers can be problematic, however, as the amount of space available is so limited.  Of course, the responsible adult must maintain supervision and control.  Please let us know if kids are accompanying you..
